Dance move
This series of stops makes the sprite move to a beat similar to a different task but it moves just the hip not the whole body.

Moving animation
The brid flaps its wings as it moves. at first the time was 3 seconds and the bird was incredibly slow so i sped it up and now the biird flies at a good speed. for the wings to change i use a different costume one with wings up and one with wings down. so the costumes changes every 1 second.
Suprise button
This sequence makes a dum make a sound and change colour when it is clicked. the computer wait until the drum is pressed then it changes the drum color and plays a beat then colour changes back and process is repeated.
This sequence makes the sprite change and animate. I have made it so the ghost (sprite) changes one with euye brows one with no eye brows. Siimple but it make it looked anmated.
| This sequence allows the colour of the sprite to change when the space bar is clicked. This shows the change in colour for the sprite. |

Using the Controls above i have allowed my Sprite to move in the direction i choose. When i press 'up arrow' the sprite move up. When i press 'down arrow' my sprite goes does and the same with 'left arrow' and 'right arrow'
It works by following my algorithm i have set up for the program/ computer to follow.

Keep Score, Dance
When one sprite hits another sprite the score changes by 1 and then moves back 100 space. It does this by following the algorthm i set out for it.
This algorthm makes the ballerina or other sprite dance to a beat or peice of music. When the prite moves 30 steps a drum bass is played. When the sprite moves -30 steps a hand clapping is played.

Why I should Use Wix
I think i should use wix because
- powerpoint has limmited resources for me to useyou can add different animations
- Wix has more options as to how to present the information
- i can make my imformation more interesting to read
- the site has the option to make the site " unsearchable" so no body can google it
- I know not to put personal information on the site

· Versatility – what media does it allow me to use (text, images, video)?
all typs of media, animations, text, video, music images
· Ease of use – how friendly is the user interface for the designers (you)? How easy is it to add components to my presentation? How friendly is the user interface for the user, can visitors find what they need on your presentation? Are you able to create a menu system or is the user forced to work through your presentation in a linear predetermined fashion?
this site it really easy to use theyre are video tutorials too tell you what to do. If someone visits my site they can easily find o5ther links
· Collaboration – how well does the online tool allow me to work with my partner? Can we both work on the presentation at the same time?

Hand Held Computing
1. What are MID and UMPC devices? How do they differ. List atleast three examples of both types of devices & include images.
- Business-class device for enterprise users
- Runs a "heavy" OS like Vista
- Optimized for office-use applications like Excel, Word, etc.
- Consumer-class lifestyle device
- Runs a 'lightweight" OS with quick startup like Linux
- Optimized for things like media playback and web surfing
- In 2009 (or so) Moorestown-based devices will be classed as MIDs only
The difference between MID and UMPC is that MID is more for buisness and using programs such as word and other Microsoft typing programs. UMPC is more for web surfing and watching movies and listening to music and other "lifestyle" things.

The World Of Multimedia!
Discuss: record this discussion on your blog.
1. Where do you commonly use multimedia in your daily life, list as many examples as you can.
- On TV
- Through a Stereo
- A Radio
- Smart Phone
- Computer/Laptop
- Ipods
2. What multimedia device or service would you find it hardest to be without? Discuss.
The multimedia device that i would find hardest to live without is my mobile phone because it's basically all multimedia devices in one. It has a radio so i can listen to my music as well as my music from my ipod. It has internet so i can use Facebook and download podcasts and watch videos on youtube. without my smart phone i would have limited access to all these things.
3. The video on future directions (third video) has already to some extent come true. What multimedia technologies displayed in this video are already commonly used?We already have voice recognition programs as well as programs that read whats written. We also already have voice activated programs. Lights that sense people in the room already exist. other things we alreay have are :
- GPS
- Wireless ear peices
- Video call
- Wireless earphones
4. Do you see any advantages/disadvantages to the use of such multimedia technology?
The world is becoming to dependent on technology, these days we do everything using technology and in the future it will be worst. If the world of technology would one day fail and shutdown our world would not know what to do having relied on technology our whole lives. although its not necessarily a bad thing technology can also be very helpful in the way we do thing and the speed we do it at.
Broadband Research
Your task is to present some information about broadband on your blog.
You are to answer the following questions:
1. What is broadband?
Of or using signals over a wide range of frequencies in high-capacity telecommunications, esp. as used for access to the Internet.
2. Outline the methods of delivery of broadband (wireless, cable, ADSL and fibre)? Identify the speed of each method.
Wireless: Unknown
Cable: bit rates can be as much as 400Mbit/s for business connections, and 100Mbit/s for residential service in some countries.
ADSL: 256 kbit/s to 40 Mbit/s in the direction to the customer
Fibre: By fiber-optic cables connected directly to buildings will deliver broadband speeds up to 100 megabits per second
3. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
Wireless:
Advantages, There are no wires so you can use the internet ANYWHERE in the house where there is a signal. You can slo attach a number of different devices such as phones ipods laptops game consoles anything.Disadvantages,Hackers, neighbours or even passers by can use your internet without your permission if you don't have your wireless network properly secured. Another disadvantage is that the strength of the signal weakens the further away you are from your router.
Fibre Optics:
Advantages, Fibre optic enables superfast broadband and will make it easier for multiple people in one house to be doing multiple things (phone, internet and video) simultaneously.
Disadvangates, It is much more costly than other cables to install It is relatively difficult to install.
Disadvangates, It is much more costly than other cables to install It is relatively difficult to install.
Cable:
Advantages, Cable broaband is said to be alot faster because there is a constant conection always running.
Disadvantages, Internet slows down when multiple users are connected. It is also capped so the internet can be fairly slow at times despite it claiming it is fast if only 1 or 2 people are connected.
Disadvantages, Internet slows down when multiple users are connected. It is also capped so the internet can be fairly slow at times despite it claiming it is fast if only 1 or 2 people are connected.
ADSL:
Advantages, The speed of the Internet is sometimes faster than the speed provided by a cable modem especially when multiple users are accessing the web.Disadvatages, However, the biggest disadvantage with the DSL broadband connections is that the further one lives from the service provider the speed of data transfer decreases significantly. So, if you live far from the service provider your Internet connection speed will be slower and vice versa.
4. Give examples of broadband providers and identify the costs.
The research i did was comparing the prices different providers charged for approx. 50 gb of internet using ADSL broadband here are my results:
Bigpond: 50GB for $49.95 a month
Optus: 50GB for $49.99 a month
iinet: 50GB for $69.95 a month
Bigpond: 50GB for $49.95 a month
Optus: 50GB for $49.99 a month
iinet: 50GB for $69.95 a month
5. The Federal Government is thinking of rolling out a national broadband network (The NBN). Research the NBN and find out:
a. what method of delivery it will use: A fibre-optic cable, known as the "drop fibre", goes from the NTU to the street ending at the top of a power pole or in an underground pit.A fibre-optic cable, known as the "drop fibre", goes from the NTU to the street ending at the top of a power pole or in an underground pit.
b. the expected speed: a peak speed of one gigabit per second
c. the expected costs: ranging from A$59.95 to A$189.95
6. Do you think Australians should invest in The NBN? Justify your answer.
I think asutralia is putting to much money into something like the NBN with unknown consequences. it may be succesful but if it is not it will just be a waste of 10 year and 35 billion dollars. So no i do not think australia should invest in it.

Introduction To Video
What are some advantages of digital video ?
Editing the video becomes easier, you can add sound effects and delete scence aswell as much more to change the video.
What is meant by frame rate in video ?
Frame rate is how many frames there are in one second.
Are all videos/movies the same frame rate, explain you answer
No, with because high frame rate videos the movement is smooth and quick. While with low frame rate videos the movement of the video is jerky and not smooth
What is meant by resolution, how is it measured
It describes the number of pixels, used to display an image. measured by pixels.
What is the colour system called RGB
It contains the colours red, green, blue and are added together to in different ways to create more of a range of colours.
Explain the video standards PAL, NTSC, and SECAM, what are the main differences between them
PAL: (Phase Alternating Lines) is the analogue video format. PAL describes the way part of the colour information on the video signal is reversed in each phase line.
NTSC: (The National Television Standards Committee) NTSC consists of 29.97 frames per second.
SECAM: (Sequentiel Couleur Avec Mémoire, french for ' Sequential Colour with Memory) is the analogue television system. using 29.97 frames per second
The main differences between them is that each country uses a different system, meaning that each system is incompatible with each other.
Which standard do we use in Australia:PAL
What is an IEEE 1394 port:
This is a high-speed, serial input. output bus for for computer peripherals and consumer electronics, capable of transfer speeds of up to 400 megabits per second. IEEE supports a much higher bandwidth than a USB, allowing to get a high-resolution video camera onto a computer without issues. IEEE 1394 has became a computing standard for high bandwidth. IEEE 1394 is also known as 'FireWire' originating from Apple.

Gnatt Chart
This is our gnatt chart, it shows when we plan to do each step of the process of making our video. Planning should take one week to complete (this includes storyboard), filming we assume will take three weeks to complete, while editing the video clips will take two weeks to do. This is according to how many IST lessons we have that week to complete the step.
Synopsis
We have decided to do our video on "A Life of A COIN", which was 'inspired' by the winner of TropFest Jr, which we will do our own version of it. click here to see it
Our film tells the different journey that a coin goes through, it will show the passing and loosing of this coin. The point of our video is to inform the viewer that you never know where something has been. It is our story of how a coin travels through different hands and has been through a lot in its 'life' as it rolls through rain, dirt, gets stuck on someones shoe etc. Hopefully we will come up with different situations the coin is present in..

and added "light graffiti" to our video.
Light Graffiti
This is not our light graffiti but it is the same idea.
We have the light graffiti saying "Life Of A Coin". the name of our assignment.
Light graffiti works by using a high quality camera and putting the camera on self timer we were able to create the graffiti. We used manual focus as auto focus doesn't work. We use a low ISO or film speed and when we turn the camera on we movie lights around to create the graffiti.

Broadband and Bandwith
1. What is broadband?
Signals over such a range of frequencies. telecommunications signal of greater bandwidth, in some sense, than another standard or usual signal
2. What units are used to measure bandwidth?
Bandwith is measured in bits
3. How much faster is broadband than dial up?
broadband is alot faster than dial up. dial up is about 48 Kbps where as broadband is 256kbps so it is clearly ALOT faster
4. What are some of the advantages of using a broadband connection to download something like a video compared to dial up?
Using a broadband connection is much easier to download because it is alot faster than dial up. Downloading using dial up takes alot longer rather than broadband.

A] How many people subscribed to the internet in 2007? How many of these were for business use? How many for home use?
Buisness: 965
Household: 6140
Total: 7105
B] Look at the access technologies heading. How many more people are using broadband since 2005? Remember that you have to add 000 to the numbers.
1. What is the speed of the connection from your computer to the Sydney location on the map?
2.40 mbps
2. What is the speed of the connection from your computer to the U.S location on the map?
2.52mbps
3. Why did the data transfer rates vary? [Hint: think of what happens when an eight lane highway moves into a two lane highway?]
At this time in amercia it wouldnt be vey busy due to it being the night this may be why it is faster than aus.

Draw Versus Paint Programs
Making the Olympic rings. I have drawn 1 ring and copied it 4 times.
I coloured each ring the appropriate colour and thickened the stroke.
As the overlapping is hard I am drawing squares and colouring them in to overlap the circle correct.
I countinued to do this with each part that overlaps and have finished my rings.
I am sure there is an easier way, but I am going to stay with this way
Using the paint program was too hard, because the shapes once put in the spot you put them could not be moved

Image File Types
1. You need to find information on each of the following file types..
GIF: A bitmap image format for pictures with up to 256 distinct colors. Graphics information format. A graphics file format which is very common in the Internet. Gif files can also be animated. GIF was designed to be used for file transfer and online storage and now used with animation.
JPEG: A file format commonly used for image compression; An image file in that format. JPEG uses a complexed way to compress pictures like photographs.
Animated GIFS: sequence of GIF files all bonded together and displayed one after the other.Come in form of bit mat. Animated gifs is a series of still images all put together.
MPEG: A set of standards adopted by the moving pictures experts group for the compression of digital video and audio data or a file of data compressed according to those standards.

too add the highlight on the PAC man baddie i used the circle tool then added blur to make it lighter

Digital Art..... Real Art?
Just for fun explore some of these sites
Ø Post one or more artworks you create with these online applications ... make sure you state which online application you used and what features you liked about the application
I like That you can splatter paint and replay how you made the artwork |
I like the tool you use to smudge the picture but the site is difficult to find out how to use |
i was unable to access this website
Ø Research some definitions of art and then create a post discussing the questions below.
· A discussion point. “Is digital art a valid form of art?”
· What are some of the advantages that digital paint and draw programs offer over the traditional methods (canvas and paint).
· What skills must a digital artist possess to create great digital art?
ART:
ART:
| Art objects, Drawings, Etchings, Paintings, Sculptures, Stage Designs, Portraits , etc. Digital art can be a valid form of art, digital art is the same as canvas and paint, just with a cursor instead of a brush. Advantages that digital paint and draw programs have is the ability to erase and undo something without editing the picture, you also have the ability to insert pictures into an artwork to make it easier. Skills that a digital artist must possess are, the ability to know how to use the program and being able to draw and create using the cursor. |
