Questions for Animation! (5)

  •   Describe what software you used and why you chose it.
I am using Inkscape because i have been using it the whole term and i understand how to use it. Inkscape is a draw program, This means that it remembers shapes and colours. The program has simple tools that have have learnt to use.
  • Ø  Describe the creation process you followed.
To make my animation i used clip art on Inkscape to find a vector image of a dinosaur. after this took each object and made it purple to represent the house Dobson. Using the circle tool i typed each letter into one circle to make it spell out 'GO DOBSON'. i rotated the letters and moved the dinosaur around using the arrows exporting the image each time. After i had enough frames i copied all the frames into movie maker and put it all together.
  • Ø  What image format were you saving your work in during development of the frames?
During the development of my frames i saved my work as Inkscape SVG

  • Ø  What image format did you save your frames as?
I saved the frames as a PNG (Portable Network Graphic). A PNG is a bitmap image format

  • Ø  What frame rate were you aiming for?
I was aiming for a frame rate of 10 frames per second. I have a frame rate of approx. 9 frames per second
  • Ø  What difficulties did you encounter and how did you overcome them?
During my animation i experienced many difficulties many times Inkscape stopped working, freezing and force closing. Resulting in me having to start and re create the images. I forgot to set a background so by default my background was black. But when i added the frames to movie maker the background changed to white

  • Ø  What is the final size of your animation?
The final size of my animation is 2.00 mb
It has a frame width of 1440
And a frame hight of 1080

Lesson (4)

After looking at my final animation i realized it is to slow with parts missing so i re did the animation when i got to the end i reversed it for it to go backwards. That is 110 frames. In movie maker each frame goes for 0.25 seconds and the whole animation goes for 27 seconds. I sped the animation up making each frame go for 0.17 seconds the Animation now goes for 18.70 seconds.
I sped it up one more time with each frame going for 0.13 seconds the whole thing going for 16.5 seconds.

This Is one frame from my animation

Buying A Graphics Tablet

A Graphics tablet is a computer input device that allows you to hand draw images onto the computer like you would with a pencil and paper. They can give you the ability to trace images onto the computer. You would use a graphics tablet to draw and trace images in an easy was straight to the computer.

Draw Versus Paint Programs

Making the Olympic rings. I have drawn 1 ring and copied it 4 times.
I coloured each ring the appropriate colour and thickened the stroke.
As the overlapping is hard I am drawing squares and colouring them in to overlap the circle correct.
I countinued to do this with each part that overlaps and have finished my rings.
I am sure there is an easier way, but I am going to stay with this way
Using the paint program was too hard, because the shapes once put in the spot you put them could not be moved

CARTOON ANIMATION

My animation I made using Ink Scape then turned into a animation using Movie maker
Making the cartoon on inkscape was hard at first so i used word instead, but i went back to inkscape in the end. Using the overlapping tool i managed to put the ears and head in the right spot.
